As in previous years, AVID will be showcasing its range of pet identification MicroChips, scanners and registration services at the London Vet Show.
AVID offers a selection of different MicroChip sizes and implanter styles to suit the differing requirements of each veterinary practice and the staff implanting the MicroChips.
AVID has recently launched a new model in the the ever popular MiniTracker range of MicroChip scanners. This new model will allow the MicroChip number to be sent directly to a Bluetooth connected device, such as a PC or tablet, to help make recording of the numbers quicker, thus reducing the risk of errors.
Combined with the PETtrac Database service, managed by AVID, this provides veterinary practices in the UK with the complete solution they need for all their clients' MicroChip requirements.
Since the introduction of compulsory microchipping regulations last year AVID has seen a greater focus on the importance of the MicroChip database service in a practice's decision when choosing their MicroChip supplier.
Since PETtrac does not make a charge for breeders to transfer pets from their details to the new keeper, when completed online, it has been a real bonus to vet practices who carry out a lot of MicroChipping for breeders. Even better is that the vet practice registers the MicroChips as normal - through the website, their practice management system, AVID's mobile app or paper registration forms - and the rest of the work is then completed by the breeder.
It's then a simple process for breeders to transfer them less than a minute and therefore ensure that the MicroChip details are updated as soon as the pets go to their new home. This provides real peace of mind for the new keepers.
Practices are encouraged to visit AVID on Stand B12 at London Vet Show to see the benefits of the products and services for themselves, even requesting some FREE samples to allow practices to 'try before you buy'.
