What is the unique BACKtrac system?
In response to the problem of registration forms being lost in the post en-route to the PETtrac Database, AVID developed the
BACKtrac system. This unique system actively reconciles the MicroChips which have been implanted by your practice, rescue centre
or dog warden service with the MicroChips registered on the PETtrac Database.
The BACKtrac system is not like similar systems
This must not be confused with services offered by other companies where you return a card to them containing batch numbers of MicroChips
you have purchased - ALL MicroChips sold by AVID are recorded to the organisation to which they are sold before they are even shipped. The
BACKtrac system is an enhanced service.
How does the BACKtrac system work?
With each batch of 25 MicroChips purchased from AVID you will receive a BACKtrac form to complete. The BACKtrac form consists of 25 spaces
for brief client information to be recorded against each MicroChip implanted. Once all 25 spaces are completed, the form is returned to the PETtrac
Database in a pre-paid envelope. Upon receipt, PETtrac checks the form to ensure that every MicroChip has been registered on the database.
In the event that a registration form has not been received by PETtrac, we will contact you directly to obtain the owner and pet information. This
process is made even easier if your practice maintains searchable computerised records.
An additional safety-net, an additional service
The enhanced BACKtrac system provides a safety-net which is not offered by any other MicroChip company - just another example of how AVID provides
additional value for money and peace of mind that all of your MicroChips will be registered!
Of course the easiest way to ensure that all of your MicroChips are registered immediately is to register the MicroChip details via the online
registration service.
